Our Origin: Welcome to WanderAwaits

I’ve always had a love for travel and seeing new places. I don’t know if it stems from growing up in a small town or traveling a lot as a kid to see family or something else entirely. Whatever caused this love and drive has made it so I feel incomplete if I don’t have a trip coming up or being planned.

And then comes my joy for planning and spreadsheets. I enjoy spreadsheets so much that I took an Excel class in college to learn more tricks for automation/formulas. It started as just planning excursions on our trips or researching the areas we were going to find hidden gems. 

I quickly became the one my friends and family would turn to to plan our trips and trips they were taking themselves. I found so much joy in finding the perfect place to stay, the secret hidden coffee shop with an amazing menu, and even an incredible experience like driving a Land Rover off-road in Scotland. 

The idea for WanderAwaits started with my need for finding the perfect trip planning solution for all these trips I was planning. I tried many different apps (future blog post to come!), downloaded/bought so many spreadsheets, and even tried different documents/templates and they all fell short in different ways. 

So I decided to make my own! The version that’s currently for sale is the third version of the spreadsheet and I plan to continue to iterate on it and make it better, where’s my operations minded people at? It contains multiple tabs and one that fully automated so that as you book flights, hotels and experiences they are automatically added to your itinerary tab to keep everything in one place.

But the planner is only one piece of this great company! The next part we are focusing on is already built itineraries. Every itinerary we sell is 3-5 days of fully planned out trips with 20+ pages packed with information for each area they are based around. This includes multiple options for places to stay, places to eat, things to do and hidden gems of excursions/experiences and the links for ease to book it all as well! And we are committed to releasing at least two new itineraries every month!

And the final piece of our company is our travel planning services. Whether you are looking for a day trip around a new area or planning a month long, multi-city cross country road trip, we are here to help you plan it!
